WHEN I THINK OF AUTUMN...

When I think of autumn...I think of you.

I'm nestled in your arms...a dream come true!

'Though it didn't last, dear, I have to say it's true:

I'm living in the past, dear; I'm still in love with you.

I see us in the bistro...with your hand in mine,

Gazing out the window...at colors so sublime!

What a special moment, or so it seemed to be.

But you didn't feel it the way it felt to me.

Springtime held out promise

That blossomed into love.

Then something came between us--

Was it an omen from above?

When I think of autumn...I have to sigh.

No need to ask myself the reason why.

'Though it didn't last, dear, now you know it , too:

For me, it's still the past, dear,

and I'm in love with you!
